Attention all students: if you have failed a class or lost credit in a class in a previous semester or year, or if you believe you will lose credit in a class this semester, please see Mr. Minor or your counselor for information about summer school. Applications and essay are due no later than 8:00 am Thursday May 30, 2013.

DHS has a digital safe box for students to confidentially notify administration/school social work of a bullying incident and/or student concern. Go to the DHS website, click on School Blog, click the School Concern link at the top of the page.

 

If you chose to take an Advanced Placement course for next school year, you and a parent are required to attend an informational meeting on Thursday, May 30 at 6:30 pm in the DHS auditorium. AP course teachers will also meet with you in small groups to discuss course expectations.

Want a yearbook? Forgot to order one? You could have your own yearbook for only $2 by buying a raffle ticket. Tickets sold at lunch. Drawing is June 4th on the morning announcements.

Congratulations to the DHS girls track team, they’re co-champions for the 2013 season. Special congratulations go out to seniors Maryrose Deberardino and Jessica Balaka for they’re individual wins. Good luck to sophomore Kyla Mann at the MHSAA D1 state meet coming up.

Coach Polk, Mifsud, and McIntosh

We are having a football meeting Thursday May 30, at 6PM in the gym. This is for any students interested in playing football and their parents. We are going to discuss what we are doing in the summer and what they need to start in the fall.

Coach Powell

There will be a brief information/sign-up meeting at 2:30pm in the north gym on Thursday May 30 for all girls interested in trying out for the fall 2013 DHS Volleyball season. Details regarding summer activities, team camp and tryouts will be covered.

Sophomores interested in becoming a Link Leader may pick up an application from Mr. Atkins in E5 or Ms. Bernys in the ninth grade office; applications must be turned in by Thursday, May 23. Juniors who already a Link Leader, and want to be one again next year, must see either Ms. Bernys or Ms. Atkins by Thursday, May 23.

ALL CO-OP STUDENTS NEED TO HAVE A COPY OF A MAY PAYCHECK TURNED IN TO MS. STERGALAS BY MAY 30, 2013!!!!!

The deadline for Peer Mediator apps has been extended to May 23rd. Apps are available outside Ms. Rumlers office.

There will be no Anti-Bullying Club meeting this week. Our next event will be our Ice cream sale during all three lunches on Wed., May 29th. Remember to drop off your topping before then. Thanks!

Attention students signed up for AP Language and Composition for next year—Summer work meetings will be held after school Tuesday-Friday during the week of May 28. ALL students must sign up in room E-5 to come to ONE of the meetings. Stop by between classes or after school to sign up. Students MUST attend one of the meetings in order to take the class next year!

Mr. Atkins and Mrs. Jones

Your DHS Parent Faculty Student Association (PFSA) has four $500 scholarships available this year to the Class of 2013. Scholarship applications are now available in the guidance office for graduating seniors. Seniors must have a 3.0 grade point average and family membership to the PFSA for a minimum of two years. Applications and essay are due no later than 8:00 am Thursday May 30, 2013.
