Buying a Yearbook

Dear Pioneer Parents,

My name is Mr. Palise, and I am the yearbook advisor at Dearborn High School. This letter will give you some important information, no matter what grade your student is in; however, there is vital information for seniors below.

Buying the yearbook:

The yearbook is now selling for $75.00. Believe it or not, this is at cost for us. We as a program make virtually no money on the sale of the book. I know it is expensive, and I know that for those of you with multiple children in high school, it is even more so. All I can say is we will do our best to make it so that the money you invest is well-spent and that there is a quality product given to your child.

The easiest and best way to buy the yearbook is by going to www.yearbookforever.com. There, you will select your school (Dearborn) and then you can buy a yearbook. You may purchase packages that include options such as:

  • protective cases for your yearbook

  • packages which allow you to personalize your book with name-stamping and icon-stamping

  • extra pages for your student to have signed by his or her friends and placed in the yearbook

  • pre-made pages that provide a current-events supplement that is called the “Year-in-review”.

Appearing in the yearbook:

The most exciting new development is the “Yearbook Snap” app, which is available for Apple and Android products. If you and your children download this app, it will allow you to upload photos that you take directly to a website which my staff and I can look over for any pictures that are useful to us. We know we can’t get to everything and be everywhere, so we welcome your contributions to the cause. Once you download and install the app, choose your school (Dearborn High) and enter our code: pioneers. From there, you can upload your photos into a variety of different categories to help us sort them out. You can ALSO upload photos using the “Community Upload” tab in the upper right corner on the same sheet where you select the option to buy a yearbook.

But the best way to increase your student’s odds of being in the yearbook is for him or her to get involved. The more he or she does, the more likely he or she is to be somewhere that we’re covering as part of the book.

Especially For Senior Parents

Your senior’s portraits are due by OCTOBER 27. They must be uploaded on www.yearbookforever.com. (While you’re there, buy a yearbook). In the community upload tab, upload your senior’s formal portrait with his or her full name. If you have NOT been able to get your senior’s formal portrait done and you need assistance, your senior can have his or her portrait as part of the picture retakes process on October 17. Contact me for details.

As I said before, the best way to increase your student’s odds of being in the yearbook is for him or her to get involved. The more he or she does, the more likely he or she is to be somewhere that we’re covering as part of the book.

However, you can ALSO purchase space for your student in the yearbook. If you want to buy personal ad space, go to www.yearbookforever.com. (While you’re there, buy a yearbook). We can put the ad together for you or you can design it and upload it on your own.

Costs:

  • Full page – $355.00

  • 1/2 page – $180.00

  • 1/4 page – $100.00

  • 1/8 page – $60.00

Purchasing a page or even half a page to give your student a personalized message with those favorite treasured pictures in the one book they will never throw away or lose or sell is a great investment for them now and a better one for their future.

I’m very excited about what we are going to be putting together with this yearbook. Whether you are the parent of a senior or a freshman, we intend to make a product your child will be proud to own and keep for the rest of his or her life.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me by email at your convenience. I’ve already heard from a number of clubs and sports and organizations who are eager to be sure they are represented in the yearbook and I’m happy to say we’ll be accommodating them all. I hope we can meet your needs, too.

Best,

M. Palise
