I wanted to share our plans for tomorrow and Saturday so you’re aware if your children are telling you something that you haven’t heard before.
First off, our theme for Friday is “Solar Eclipse” so we are hoping to see everyone dressed in wearing black with some orange. We will be running our normal schedule, hours 1-6, but will be cutting each hour 10 minutes short in order to have time at the end of the day, 1:20-2:15, to run our Homecoming Pep Assembly. All Michael Berry and DCMST students will have the option to be bussed back to DHS early to attend the assembly and we hope they join us; the bus will depart from Michael Berry around 1:00 pm.
At 4:00 pm, beginning in the parking lot across the street and running through the neighborhood west of us starting on York, will be our Homecoming Parade led by the Marching Band, Homecoming Court, class floats, and many of our other student organizations.
Immediately following the parade, around 4:30, we will be having our bonfire, rescheduled from Sunday, and a tailgate open to all students that includes pizza and drinks.
The bonfire and tailgate will end at 6:30 and students will be directed to make their way to the football game, starting at 7 pm. At the half, our Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned.
From 7-10 pm on Saturday is our Homecoming dance, tickets are $15 and won’t be sold at the door so tomorrow at lunch is the last time to get them. Students must arrive by 8 pm.
It’s going to be busy…but we’re excited to celebrate with our amazing kids.
