Dear Parents and Guardians,
In just four short months, your students’ K-12 education career will be coming to a close with commencement and we are excited to celebrate this great accomplishment with you. We wanted to give some very important information regarding end of year dates for when their classwork and grades need to be finalized and your child’s graduation requirements to walk in the graduation ceremony.
The last official day of school for seniors is May 20th. Seniors will be taking their 4th, 5th, and 6th period final exams on Monday, May 19th and will be taking their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd period final exams on Tuesday, May 20th. This will be the last time that students will be meeting for each of those class periods. All assignments, coursework, and assessments must be completed by the last time their class meets.
Students who are missing credits at the time of graduation will not be allowed to walk with their class and participate in the graduation ceremony. This is a change from past years, where some seniors could attend summer school and were allowed to participate in commencements. If your son or daughter is currently behind in credits, we encourage you to schedule a meeting with their counselor to devise an academic plan toward graduating on time. For information on district and state graduation requirements, please visit our district website, www.dearbornschools.org, and look for Policy and Guidelines under District Info. If you have any questions, please contact your school’s principal and/or graduation specialist.
We are looking forward to celebrating with all of our graduates who have met the full graduation requirements on the following days:
Henry Ford Early College: Saturday, May 17, 2025 @ 10:00 am
Dearborn High School: Saturday, May 31, 2025 @ 10:00 am

Mr. Adam Martin
