Women’s History Fair (hosted by PSAC)

The DHS Principal Student Advisory Council hosted a Women’s History Fair during all lunches today to celebrate Women’s History Month  to  highlight the contributions of women in the Women’s Suffrage Movement/History, Music/Performing Arts Industry, Sports, Language, Literature, Politics, and so much more. As a bonus, students had fun making buttons!

March is Women’s History Month!   During this time, we commemorate and encourage the study, observance and celebration of the vital role of women in American history.  I’d like to quote President Carter – who stated the following when he signed the proclamation in 1980:

From the first settlers who came to our shores, from the first American Indian families who befriended them, men and women have worked together to build this nation. Too often the women were unsung and sometimes their contributions went unnoticed. But the achievements, leadership, courage, strength and love of the women who built America was as vital as that of the men whose names we know so well.
