Greetings Pioneers,
Today, after the second hour, some of our students wanted to stand in solidarity with the Lebanese and Palestinian people. Students peacefully walked out of the building and gathered in front of the building.
As a school, we never encourage students to walk out during instructional time. However, we also want to respect our students’ right to express themselves. Students who did not attend class(es) will be marked absent. Teaching and learning continued for all others and it was business as usual.
Our students were respectful, calm, and supportive of one another. They were outside of the building for the third hour. Our administration and support staff were present outside with the students along with police presence. After third period, students came back into the building and went to lunch or their fourth hour class.
Please be reassured that we take the safety of our students as high priority at Dearborn High School. We made sure students assembled in a safe manner, had the Dearborn Police present, and several staff to support student safety.
As a reminder to all students and families, we continue our efforts to remind staff of all the resources we have to help manage grief and trauma. For students, our counselors, social workers, and school psychologists are committed to providing any on-site support as needed. In addition, we welcome our community to visit our SEL page linked on our Dearborn Public Schools Website where you will find additional resources that can be used to help your child get through this challenging time.
In addition, we have a comprehensive plan in place and are currently reviewing all safety measures.

Homecoming season is just around the corner!! We are super excited to have you volunteer and/or donate water/pop/juice for Battle of the Torch (BFT) and the Homecoming Dance. Please sign up using this link: Chaperone/Donations Sign Up.
Volunteers need to complete an ichat form. Dearborn Public Schools requires all volunteers fill out an ichat for a background check. It takes up to two weeks to process. The dance is on Oct. 12, so they must be in by September 23, 2024. You will have to print it out, bring it to the Main Office at DHS, and sign it in the presence of a staff member. Also, please bring your driver’s license. Please note ichats are good for 3 years. If you have filled one out in the last 3 years we can check to see if the ichat is still active.

تحياتي للرواد،
اليوم، وبعد الحصة الثانية، أراد بعد طلابنا التضامن مع الشعبين اللبناني والفلسطيني. وقد خرج الطلاب والطالبات بهدوء وتجمعوا امام مبنى المدرسة.
ونحن كمدرسة، لا نشجّع الطلاب على الخروج من المدرسة خلال وقت الدراسة. لكننا، في نفس الوقت، نود احترام حق طلابنا في التعبير عن أنفسهم. وسيتم اعتبار الطلاب الذين لم يحضروا صفوفهم غائبين. وقد استمر التعليم والتعلم والعمل بشكل معتاد لجميع لطلاب الباقين.
كان طلابنا محترمين، هادئين، ومساندين لبعضهم البعض. وكانوا خارج المبنى طوال الحصة الثالثة. وكان افراد الإدارة وموظفو المساندة متواجدين خارج مبنى المدرسة مع الطلاب والطالبات بحضور رجال الشرطة. وقد عاد الطلاب الى المبنى وذهبوا الى فترة الغداء أو الى حصتهم الرابعة.
أرجو منكم التأكد من اننا في ثانوية ديربورن هاي نأخذ سلامة طلابنا وطالباتنا كأولوية قصوى. وقد حرصنا على ان يتجمع طلابنا وطالباتنا بشكلٍ آمنٍ، وعلى تواجد الشرطة والعديد من موظفينا للتأكد من سلامتهم.
وكتذكير لجميع طلابنا وطالباتنا وعائلاتهم، فإننا نستمر في جهودنا لتذكير الموظفين والموظفات بجميع الموارد التي لدينا للمساعدة على إدارة الحزن والصدمات النفسية. بالنسبة للطلاب، فان مستشارينا، ومصلحينا الاجتماعيين، وعلماء النفس في مدرستنا ملتزمون بتامين المساندة لهم عند الحاجة اليها. بالإضافة الى ذلك، يمكنكم ان تجدوا موارد إضافية يمكن استخدامها لمساعدة اولادكم وبناتكم على عبور هذا الوقت الحرج عبر زيارة موقع:

يكاد موسم العودة للوطن (Homecoming) ان ينتظرنا على الزاوية!! ونحن متحمسون للغاية لتطوعكم و/أو تبرّعكم بالمياه/المشروبات الباردة/العصائر لمعركة الشعلة (Battle of the Torch) وحفل العودة للوطن الراقص. يُرجى التسجيل عبر استخدام الرابط:
على المتطوّعين انجاز نموذج ichat. وحرصاً على سلامة الطلاب، تطلب مدارس ديربورن الحكومية من جميع المتطوّعين تعبئة نموذج ichat للتحقق من الخلفية. ويتطلًب الأمر حوالي أسبوعين للمعالجة. وسيكون موعد الحفل الراقص في 12 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر، لذا يجب الحصول على ذلك بموعدٍ أقصاه 23 أيلول/سبتمبر، 2024. ويتوجب عليكم طباعتها واحضارها الى المكتب الرئيسي في ثانوية ديربورن هاي وتوقيعها بوجود أحد الموظّفين. يُرجى أيضاً إحضار رخصة القيادة. كما يُرجى الملاحظة بان هذه النماذج الموقّعة صالحة لمدة 3 سنوات. ويمكننا التحقق من تاريخ الصلاحية، إذا كنت قد ملأت واحدا من هذه النماذج.
