More Welcome Back Information

Parents,

I’ve had a few questions about next week that I wanted to answer. Beginning tomorrow you should be able to see your child’s schedules through either Parent or StudentConnect for the upcoming year. Please update your ParentConnect with your newest contact information if you haven’t already. If you have any questions about your schedule, please email your child’s counselor.

Starting Monday, students are asked to come to the school to pick up their materials needed for this school year following the schedule below. Students will not be meeting with their teachers during the week, but will hopefully get enrolled in and have time to complete a Welcome Back Course that will get them comfortable with Schoology and DHS. We will give directions on how to access the Welcome Back course next week.

–August 31st, 9th Grade 8:30-9:30 A-B 9:30-10:30 C-L 10:30-11:30 M-Z

–September 1st, 10th Grade 8:30-9:30 A-B 9:30-10:30 C-L 10:30-11:30 M-Z

–September 2nd, 11th Grade 8:30-9:30 A-B 9:30-10:30 C-L 10:30-11:30 M-Z

–September 3rd, 12th Grade 8:30-9:30 A-B 9:30-10:30 C-L 10:30-11:30 M-Z

If you are unable to attend or have multiple children, please plan on arriving during the highest grade level of your household or the following week during office hours 7:30-3:30.

September 8th will be the first day that students are expected to be live, virtually with their teachers from 12-3 pm, as they will attend 1st, 2nd, and 3rd period classes. On September 9th, between 12-3 pm they will attend live virtual classes with their 4th, 5th, and 6th period classes. We will share more information on how to do that next week as well as the extended calendar for A/B days.

With the district starting all students online, those students who selected the virtual program will not see any scheduling changes to begin the year. When and if students are allowed to return to the school, those virtual program students may then see a schedule change. At that point, all virtual students will get confirmation from the school about that change.

Thanks

Mr. Martin
