Week Ahead

Greetings Pioneers,

I had a fantastic first week at DHS. Thanks to all who stopped by or emailed me to introduce themselves and welcome me in so many different ways. What I already knew about DHS has been confirmed with all the amazing Pioneer students stopping me in the hall or outside to welcome me, talk to me,  and wish me well. I already feel at home and I want to thank you all for that.

Here’s a look at the next two weeks:

Monday, November 8th

  •   Board Meeting @7pm

Tuesday, November 16th

  • Parent Teacher Conferences

Wednesday, November 17th

  • Fall Play @7:30pm

Thursday, November 18th

  • Parent Teacher Conferences
  • Fall Play @8pm

Friday, November 19th

  • Fall Play @ 7:30pm

Parent/Teacher Conferences are an excellent opportunity for parents and teachers to get together to discuss academic progress and give specific ideas on how to improve upon a child’s performance in school.  We look forward to meeting with parents this fall and will offer in-person or virtual options for parents to meet with DHS teachers.

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Tuesday, November 16th (in-person) and Thursday, November 18th (virtual) from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.  Teachers will be using Sign-up Genius to help parents sign-up for conference times to reduce the number of visitors in the building and make these meetings more efficient for everyone.  Your child’s teachers will reach out to you with this information and we will send out more information next week.  If you are unable to sign-up electronically for a conference, please contact your child’s teacher to schedule a meeting at a time that is convenient for both parties.

Report Cards (hard copy) will be available for parents to pick up on the evening of November 16th and November 18th and can be picked up in the lobby.  In addition, parents can view their child’s report card electronically through Parent Connect.

Please note that  parents can pick up report cards on November 18th, but will not be able to meet with teachers in person on that day.

Thank you and have a fabulous weekend!
