Week Ahead

Greetings Pioneers, 

The  last school week of the calendar year is upon us and we have a great deal of activities planned for our students. But first, we would like to recognize some positive things happening at DHS!. 

CONGRATULATIONS to the Dearborn High School Thespians who attended and competed at the 2022 State Thespian Festival in Lansing this past weekend. 

The Thespians were honored for their fine performances in the competition events at the festival.   

Honorees included:

  • Savannah Capote – Superior Ratings and Medals in both Musical Theatre Solo and Dance Solo
  • Eliana Quesada – Superior Rating and Medal in Stage Management
  • Ryan Furchi in Monologue – Certificate of Excellence
  • Madelyn Luckey in Musical Theatre Solo – Certificate of Excellence
  • Charlotte Karoub and Sukayna Bazzi in Duet Acting Scene 
  • – Certificate of Excellence
  • Julius Owens and Abier Saad in Musical Theatre Duet – Certificate of Excellence
  • Ava Danysh in Dance Solo – Certificate of Excellence
  • Ava Assenmacher and Eliana Quesada in Group Dance – Certificate of Excellence
  • Madelyn Luckey, Samantha Metas, Carter Coykendall, Tom Besek, Adam Makled, Arlo Molenda, Julius Owens, Charlotte Karoub, Ava Assenmacher, Ava Danysh, Sukayna Bazzi, and Ryan Furchi in the Group Acting Scene – Certificate of Excellence 
  • Willow Anderson in Monologue – Competitor

The week of December 19th will be our 3rd Annual Charity Week as well as Spirit Week. All proceeds go toward ACCESS Recovery Center. Below are flyers to help keep you informed of all events and I’ve included the information in my Week Ahead below. Help us reach our goal of $4,000!

IMPORTANT DATES – FOR YOUR PLANNING:

  • Final Exams semester 1 – January 18-20th 
  • Final Exams semester 2 – June 13-15
  • Final Exams for seniors – semester 2- May 24th & 25th
  • Last day for seniors is May 25th
  • Honor’s Night is May 30th
  • Graduation will be June 10th

  • Teachers – Committee meetings @ 2:55pm
  • Spirit Week Begins as the kick-off for Charity Week – Merry Monday – PJs or onesies
  • Passports being sold for Charity Week – $10
  • Hot Cocoa sold in cafe at lunch for charity week
  • HOSA cookies and bagel sale -am

Tuesday, December 20th

  • Spirit Week – Toasty Tuesday – fun hat/scarves/socks
  • Key Club Sales – am 
  • Passports are sold for Charity Week @ lunch – $10
  • Hot Cocoa sold in cafe at lunch for charity week
  • Class of 2025 sales @ lunch and after school 
  • Tin Can Raffe Planning Meeting for parents in the annex/cafe @6pm

Wednesday, December 21st

  • Spirit Week – Wacky Tacky Wednesday – Ugly Christmas sweaters
  • Hot Cocoa sold in cafe at lunch for charity week
  • Teachers Holiday Extravaganza
  • Animal Care Bagel Sale – am 
  • Candy Cane Gram Sales @ lunch
  • Class of 2023 sales after school 

Thursday, December 22nd

  • Totally Tone Thursday – Christmas colors
    • 11th/12th grade – red
    • 9th/10th – green
    • Staff – white/lights
  • Charity Week – Hot Cocoa at lunch and Passport Day – 2nd & 5th hours
  • Charity Week – Picture Day with Santa @ Lunch 
  • Class of 2024 sales – pm

Friday, December 23rd

  • Spirit Week – Fun Festive Friday – Santa’s Workshop
  • Charity Week – Ice Cream Sundays and Spin the Wheel @ Lunch
  • Hot Cocoa sold in cafe at lunch for charity week
  • Class of 2026 sales – pm 
  • SCHOOLS CLOSE AT THE END OF THE DAY UNTIL JANUARY 9th
