Dearborn High School

Graduation Requirements & Commencement

October 13, 2023

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope that everyone is eagerly anticipating celebrating their graduation, and wanted to give some very important information regarding your child’s graduation requirements and eligibility to walk in the graduation ceremony.

Students who are missing credits at the time of graduation will not be allowed to walk with their class and participate in the graduation ceremony.  This is a change from past years, where some seniors could attend summer school and were allowed to participate in commencements. Again, in order to participate and walk in commencement in June, students must have met all state and district graduation requirements.

If your son or daughter is currently behind in credits, we encourage you to schedule a meeting with their counselor to devise an academic plan toward graduating on time. For information on district and state graduation requirements, please visit our district website, www.dearbornschools.org, and look for Policy and Guidelines under District Info.  If you have any questions, please contact your school’s principal and/or graduation specialist.

Respectfully,

Mr. Adam Martin

Executive Director of Student Achievement
