Hello Pioneer Community,
As part of our ongoing effort to keep an open line of communication with our parents, I would like to take a moment to share information with you regarding an email that was received by a few staff members.
We were made aware of a threatening comment made via email toward our school from someone who is not a student at Dearborn High or Dearborn Schools. Dearborn Police and our district’s Safety Department were immediately contacted. Law enforcement visited the home of the person whose name was on the email. The investigation by Dearborn Police showed that it was not a viable threat, before school hours, and we are conducting business as usual.
We are very grateful for our strong partnership with the Dearborn Police Department and our school resource officer program, as it assisted us in acting swiftly and appropriately to this situation. As a reminder, any threat is considered very serious and will be treated as such.
Please take this opportunity to discuss with your students the importance of limiting interactions and the information they share with strangers they meet online.
