Dearborn High School

Week Ahead

Greetings Pioneers,

It’s so hard to believe that we are embarking on the last full week of school before final exams!

Congratulations to all seniors! All have received their cap and gown and our underclassmen celebrated them with  a nice clap out to honor their last time walking through DHS hallways as students.

In addition,  our graduating seniors were honored and celebrated at the elementary and middle schools they attended. They did a walkthrough and clap out at each of our feeder schools.  They also had a senior sunset BBQ on the evening of their last day as students at DHS – May 20th.  Thank you to all the feeder schools who celebrated our students. Huge shout out to Ms. AboulHosn who coordinated this event with all the DHS feeder schools. A huge shout out to all the staff members and parents who have helped with all these celebrations for our seniors.

Our festivities continue next week as we honor our seniors at Honors Night, Prom, commencement and the all night senior party. Busy week ahead for our seniors! Please refer to the  Senior Mini Schedule for exact dates/times.

SENIORS: PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL because that will be my way of communicating with seniors between now and commencement.  You all should have received an email from me about Honors Night Rehearsal and the event itself.

Please remember that seniors who are disciplined or suspended may lose the privilege to attend the end of year festivities that we have worked so hard to plan for them – this includes, prom, senior party, commencement. In more serious situations, the law is involved. We want our seniors to have fun- in and out of school -without anyone getting hurt or breaking rules/laws.

Parents: Please talk to your senior about this because we will continue to enforce the Student Code of Conduct. We want all our seniors to end their time at DHS on a positive note and finish strong!

As the weather heats up, sometimes it is easy to be looking ahead to June and we forget to take advantage of every opportunity life has for us.  Our teachers are putting together engaging lessons to keep the love of learning flowing.  Please remember that the last day of school is June 6th and all family vacations should start after your child has concluded their school year on that date.
