Greetings Pioneers,

We are heading into the last full week of school for this semester. Please check your student’s grades and ensure they are caught up on assignments, to be prepared for final exams, and encourage them to end the semester on a high note. We want everyone to finish strong! That’s the Pioneer way! We have highly qualified teachers who offer tutoring after school – three days a week (Monday, Wednesday & Thursday 3-4:30pm) – free of charge- to help support our students. The week of December 11th is Charity/Spirit Week. Student Council has fun activities planned for students. The goal is to raise $4,000 that will be donated to the Amity Foundation who is always generous and gives back to our community. See below for the events/theme of each day.

Below is information previously shared about the Tin Can Raffle on March 1st and 2nd:

The Tin Can Raffle is a junior year event to raise money for the Class of 2025 Prom and Senior Party expenses. Below is a link for our Sign Up Genius, which is our platform for organizing different parent donors for baskets that will be used for the raffle. We need your help in making this Tin Can Raffle a success. Whatever you can contribute or sign up for is greatly appreciated.

When you sign up, please make sure to add in the “COMMENTS,” the approximate total cost of the basket and the name of your child that’s in the junior class. If you have any other ideas or suggestions of what to donate that are not already on the sign up genius, please email me directly.

If you have items for a basket, please label it with your name and the basket theme, and you can drop them off to me at DHS in the Counseling Office.

We have Early Release every Tuesday. . Students will be dismissed at 1:15pm while teachers will be hard at work to improve instruction and work together to meet the needs of all learners.
Students have been issued their ID cards and are expected to have them in order to enter school events, (i.e. games, dances, etc.…)
Please remind your student to purchase their parking permit if they drive to school. All students who park in the parking lot are expected to have a parking permit. We will be ticketing cars that do not have a DHS permit.
We are not an open campus meaning that students are not allowed to leave campus for lunch. Nor do we allow any food deliveries (Uber Eats, DoorDash, etc.…)

DHS Honor’s Night – Tuesday, May 28,2024 @ 6pm
Memorial Day Ceremony – Wednesday, May 22, 2024 @9am
