Care to the Core Success!
The Annual Care to the Core was on Wednesday, October 6th! Students were able to explore the profound impact of respect, empathy, and kindness on teen mental health and learn about actionable ways to foster a supportive school community.
This year, students and staff were able to take photos with a “You Belong Here” frame to focus on everyone having a place at DHS! At lunch, student leaders asked fellow students to write their kindness, empathy, and respect commitments on a slip of paper. These slips created a chain of orange and black paper for commitments of how we can all care to the core.
This event was so popular, we even had a very special guest make an appearance! Thank you to Mayor Abdullah Hammoud for stopping by and participating in our initiative!
