Mr. Barkoff has been a PE Teacher at DHS for 20 years. Dearborn High has been a big part of his life as well as his family’s for a long time. He began coaching at DHS in 1997, the year his son was born, then his son grew up and graduated from Dearborn in 2015. His first 11 years of teaching were at Lowrey Middle School as a 7th Grade Science Teacher. After earning a Master’s Degree in PE, he transferred to DHS and has been there ever since. He’s lived less than a mile from the school for the last 27 years, so this community has long been a big part of who he is.
Rania Bazzi-Hijazi

Ms. Bazzi-Hijazi completed her teaching degree in 2003 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. She also earned a Master’s in Education and a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in ESL. This year, she is teaching both Biology and Chemistry, drawing on her background in science and education to create an engaging and supportive classroom environment for all students. In addition to her classroom role, this is her fourth year serving as the HOSA (Future Health Professionals) advisor at DHS, where she supports students’ growth in leadership, health science, and community involvement.

Mr. Moleski has been working at Dearborn High for more than 20 years! Although he didn’t go to high school at DHS, he truly is a “Pioneer” at heart. He grew up in West Michigan and attended Grand Valley State University, Eastern MI University, and U of M. Mr. Moleski has also taught many different subjects at DHS – like algebra, geometry, algebra 2, statistics, sign language, and intervention classes.

As the Career Academy Lead at Dearborn High, Ms. Nasir leads with the mission of Education with a Purpose—helping students connect learning to real opportunities and future goals. She assists in guiding students as they explore diverse career pathways and understand the academic programs offered across the district. Beginning in sophomore year, Ms. Nasir implements YouScience, an aptitude-based assessment, to help students discover their strengths and align them with choosing relevant courses that support their career interests. She also guides students through the Dual Enrollment program, which allows them to take college-level coursework or explore a potential career interest while still in high school. In addition, Ms. Nasir organizes career chats, panels, and fairs that connect students with professionals, inspiring students to pursue their passions with clarity and confidence.

Ms. Zriek-Hammoud has been an educator for the past 17 years, with the majority of her career spent teaching at Fordson High School. She is deeply committed to both her profession and her community. Over the years, she’s had the privilege of leading various student organizations, including 14 years as the advisor for Key Club. She currently serves as the advisor for Students for Palestine, continuing her passion for community service and student engagement.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her family. She’s a proud mother of three wonderful children and wife to an amazing husband. Ms. Zreik-Hammoud shares her home with her family and her Persian cat, Bella. In her free time, she enjoys walking, traveling, cooking, and creating lasting memories with her loved ones.
