Joanne earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Madonna University in 2009 and went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing, Nurse Practitioner degree in 2014. Her true passion lies in working within the community to improve the health and wellbeing of our students and their families. She finds immense joy in watching them grow into young adults and valuable members of our community. Her philosophy is; students must be healthy to be educated & educated to be healthy. |
![]() | Mariam Abou-Dib Instructional Coach (Science) aboudim@dearbornschools.org | With over a decade of experience as an Integrated Science teacher, Ms. Abou-Dib brings a strong background in both classroom instruction and educational research. She holds a Master’s degree in English as a Second Language and a Ph.D. in STEM Educational Studies. Currently serving as a Science Instructional Coach, she is dedicated to supporting teachers and students by fostering engaging learning environments and helping students develop the skills and confidence to perform at their best. |
![]() | Gada Aboul-Hosn Community Parent Liaison aboulhg@dearbornschools.org 313.827.1629 | Ms. Aboul-Hosn has been part of Dearborn Public Schools for more than 25 years and is honored to serve as the Community Parent Liaison at Dearborn High School. Her journey in education began as a preschool teacher with Head Start, then as a paraprofessional supporting special education students across multiple schools, and later as a Student Empowerment Technician at Henry Ford Elementary. Each of these roles gave her the opportunity to support students and families in different ways, always with the goal of helping every child feel valued and successful. As the parent of three sons who grew up in Dearborn Schools, she knows firsthand how important family engagement is in education. She strives to build strong connections between home and school, foster positive relationships among parents, staff, and students, and create a welcoming space where families feel supported. Dearborn is not just where she works—it’s her community. She is proud to walk alongside families, advocating for their children and celebrating their successes. Ms. Aboul-Hosn’s door is always open, and she encourages families to reach out with questions or concerns. |

(Reading is important as all students need to be able to read really well–and fast.) Once he graduated from college, he taught high school English, and computers, for years in West Michigan. When his father became ill, he moved his family back to this area to help out. Since he was here, he also obtained an advanced degree in Library Science & Information Skills from Wayne State University. As Dearborn High is one of the best high schools in Michigan, he could not be more proud to work at this high school. Reading and media could not be more important. |

Prior to that, he worked at Stout Middle School as the parent liaison. Between 1976 and 2014 he worked as a photogrammetrist making maps out of aerial and satellite imagery. He moved between Lebanon, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Canada. During that interval of time he tutored English, Arabic, Social Studies, Science, and Math privately. He got to travel to many countries, gaining a lot of knowledge and learning how to appreciate cultures and diversity. |
